Friday November 9th.2012.
Today was my second class in the access program I arrived very early to the class. I was worry because this day I was supposed to videotaped my class and the person who was going to do it was not there yet. I satrted preparing everything and I wrote the date on the board. I heard a comment between the students, one of them said long time without seen the date until now. I felt embarrased because I didn`t know if it is that their teacher never does it or I didn`t know if I forgot to write it the last class. That made me t be aware that students pay attention of every single detail about the class.
The class flowed normal I started with the warm up and I really enjoy to see this students participating they are so ready to participate. Despite they love to speak spanish I tryed to pushed them not to do it. It is a good experience to teach this group they are very dynamic and they get directions so fast. The only problem was that some of them were shy because of the person who was video taping the class even when I told them not to worry about it.
I have learn that some activities that work for one group maybe wont work for another one. This time I used an activity that I had use in a previous group and I was worry because the last time the activity didn`t work but this time everything was so great thanks God they did it. I`m sure they are learning a lot of new things but Im learning too and that makes me happy and encourages me to continue given a 100% each class.

Friday, 26, 2012.
Today was my first class with a new group. This time everything is different because I`m working with the english teenagers program. Everything is kind of different from the major. And since we are working with children it gives much space to learn by playing.

I arrive some minutes before the class started. I was talking to the tutor and he told me that this group was kind of difficult because they were very shy and didnt like to participate. The day that the teacher assigned me the class I was going to teach she told me the same thing and suggested me to be prepared for that.
I started the warm up wondering how students were going to react and for my surprise they got instructions quickly and they understood what they had to do. It was great to see how good they work, this students were so interested in doing the things.I brougth a boardgame for them to practice "ing" form of the verb and they were creating sentences using the structue they learned. It was like + gerund. It was great to see them practicing a lot I think this kind of games pushed them to participate and to practice their English without getting bored.
 I continued doing the activites and the class flowed very natural the only problem I faced it was that as always I was nervous and I forgot to mention some instructions in certain moments, I also forgot to paste the objective even when I had it prepared. I realized about it so late. I just continued with the activities but for next class it will be the first time I will do. At the end of the class I felt satisfied because I sa they were speaking a lot of english and the teacher also mentioned it. They still have some problems using spanish but I hope next class Ii will be better than tihs one.

Monday,17, 2012.
Today was my third class in the intermediate group. I started the class pasting on the board the objective and writting the date. Then I greet the students but in this time I forgot to read the objective and realized about too late. I continued doing the warm up activity which was really good because it made the students to participate by talking to each other. That day I had to teach the grammar part and I made a big mistake because the explanation it consisted on some rules. Each rule had only 2 examples per each. I thougth it was enough for them to understan but as soon I was teaching it I realized that they were having doubts and I dind`t have more examples. I was nos able of inventing the examples rigth in the moment so I just move on but I noticed that they were having doubts about the first rule. Later I continued explaining and some of them seemed to understand what I was explaining. When the practice came I could notice that some of them were asking the same things again like if I didn`t explain anything. Some of them were paying attention when I was explaining but some others were talking to each other and in spanish which is worst. I tryied to tell them not to speak spanish but I think they don`t care too much about what I said, I know that something must be wrong in the way I`m teaching them because I don`t get their attention as I wish. I know it is not their fault because I should have used some other method to get their attention but I think I did my best. I did everything I could for them to understand the things but I don`t know what happened. At the end of the class I was as frustrated as them. I hope next class will be better I`m tring to take in consideration the advices I recived from the feedback

Monday, 10th. 2012.
Today it was my second class in the intermediate group. The class started 5 minutes late from what I was supposed to start because the students didn`t arrived on time. I was on time also the teacher and just one students shown up.The teacher told me we had to wait some minutes for the rest of the class. I could see that when I recieved my feedback the teacher took note of the time I started and the time I finished. He highlight that I finished when 2 minutes were missing for he class to finish. I didn`t know if I should continue but two minutes were not enough for any other activity. I don`t kno what is correct: To still more time from the teacher`s class or what I did but I think the teacher didn`t like it.
The class in general was good the students were participating in the warm up but I still have problems with them because they love to speak spanish. Another problem I have faced is that they do not understand things so fast I have to repeat it many times. I don`t know if it is that they do not pay enough attention or that they really do not understand full English. When the other activities came some of them were very happy and enthusiactic participating but some others were talking to each other. I think that maybe they didn`t understand what they were suppused to do and they were asking their classmates. When I recieved my feedback the teacher said that I should be more enthusiastic ith the students that my attitude is not so good. I dont know what to think because I think m been kind and friendly with them. I will continue working on that because something maybe wrong in my attitude. I hope next class will be better because I`m trying to improve all the things and to apply the advices I recieved from the teacher.

Monday, 3rd, 2012.
Today was my first class in Intermediate English group.I recieved what I was supposed to teach some days before. I saw that I had to teach the grammar part. I was not so worry about it because for me the topic was easy. I t was past progressive :-). I read as I much as I could about it and I also studied the grammar notes that the teacher provided me on the lesson plan. Since it was the first class with this group I was nervous as always. I started the class with a warm up acording to the past progressive theme but I dont know what happened that the students were not doing the things as they were supposed to. I was wondering what was going on. I didn`t know if it was that I didn`t explain correectly or they didn`t understand english so well.
They finished the activity but I was not satisfied with it and at the end when I recieved the feedback the teacher told me that I didn`t make sure they had understood, so I realised it was MY mistake. I continued with the rest of the class and it flowed so natural that I felt happy. There`s only one difficult thing and it is that the students love tospeak spanish. It is a big problem I tried to make them to speak english but they seem like if they do not care about it. Im getting ready for next class to try new things to help them to forget spanish at all. I hope I will do better because now I know which my mistakes are and I will try to improve them.

Thursday, 23rd, 2012.
Today was my 4th and last class in the advanced group. The day before the class the teacher assigned me what I was supposed to teach. I was worry because he told me that I had to teach the grammar notes. I was not happy with the idea but eventually when I heard that the topic was "reported speech" I felt reliefed because I knew some things about it so I just had to read something more. The teacher also suggested me some pages where I could read about it.
The class started with a warm up that I prepared but something happened. I was sure that the activity was not taking more than 5 minutes to be developed. Since it was like a discussion and students had the chance of giving opinions the activity last around 15 minutes. I felt good because they were participating and as I know the most they practice, the better it is.
Another unexpected situation appeared when I was supposed to check student`s homework but I discovered that they didn`t work on it. So, they took some minutes to work on the homework. Later, I check it.
I continued developing the rest of the previous activities before the grammar notes. When I was getting ready to get on the main topic I realized that the time was over. The teacher told me not to worry about it and to stop rigth there. So, I couldnt teach the grammar part in other case it would have been a relief but not this time because I was really prepared.
At the end I just say thank you to the students and the teacher and I left. This was a great experience I learned a lot by working with this group. I liked that they are not shy at all. They like to participate and to practice. It was nice working with this group I had many challenges during the time I was there but I learned many things and Im happy for that. I`m having good expectations for next period and the coming group I hope everything will be ok.

Thursday, 09th, August. 2012.

Today it was my third class. Things are getting better I feel that I have a better control of the class.I started my class by making a funny warm up. I wrotetwo words on the board and stududents made groups and take turns to write a word that started with the last letter of the word I wrote. I had an unexpected situation because the teacher asigned me to develop activities only for listening skill. I prepared everything but I also prepared two more exercises that where not based on listening. When the time of teaching came the teacher told me that he couldn`t get the CD so I had to completely change my lesson plan at the moment...I was so nervous because I didn`t know what I was going to do The teacher suggested me to work in some exercises from the book that didn`t need the CD. Since I had two more extra activities I didn`t have much problem with it and I developed my class. I was scared but at teh end everything was ok. I think it is a good idea to always be prepared for unexpected situations so we are not pushed to improvised, and if we do it not to invent things. We can not play with education and it is so bad to invent what you are going to teach at the rigth moment. At the end everything was good thanks God I have a lot of good expectations for next class because I`m learning from my own mistakes and trying not to make them again. good luck!!
